As we get ready for the 2023 Transportation Conference starting this week in Tauranga, here’s an insight into more recent work by our expert transportation team for the South Waikato District Council.
CKL led a review of their District Plan in the context of the removal of minimum parking standards as required by the National Policy Statement – Urban Development. The review considered four key land uses (residential, commercial, industrial and community) in the context of the three main towns of South Waikato, what the implications of removing the minimum parking requirements might be, and what changes would be needed to the District Plan.
It was an interesting and complex project that was a great cross-over opportunity to combine both our transportation engineering and transportation planning skills.
If you’re heading to the Transportation Conference this week, make sure to stop by our CKL stand and say hello – we look forward to meeting you there, or catching up on one of our sponsored technical tours!
