Exciting things are coming to the Overlea neighbourhood.

This well-connected part of Glen Innes runs alongside Leybourne Circle, which is set to become a pedestrian-first, green, ‘liveable street’ where local kids can safely walk to and from the four schools nearby.

The reserve and stream running through Leybourne Circle all the way from Sacred Heart College to Tāmaki College and the Tāmaki Recreation Centre will be home to upgraded parks, playgrounds and natural spaces.

Around 170 new, high quality homes are being built in Overlea, and nearly half of them have already welcomed their new occupants.

There are around 1,800 old public homes in Glen Innes, many of them past their best – and most on large sections. Over the next 20 years, these will be replaced by around 1,800 new, warm, healthy public homes and around 3,300 new affordable and market homes.

The construction of homes is supported by significant investment in parks, community facilities streets, infrastructure and transport.
