HAMILTON
After becoming licensed in 1990, Stu spent time in construction surveying in the UK before returning to New Zealand and working as a surveyor in both Hamilton and Te Awamutu, joining CKL initially from 1997 to 2005. After spending further time in the UK and running his own surveying business in Te Awamutu, he returned to CKL in 2014, taking up his current position in the Hamilton office.
Stu has extensive experience managing client projects from resource consent to the issuing of titles, and while he has spent a significant amount of time undertaking work in rural areas, also appreciates the mix he currently covers of urban, commercial and industrial projects. He understands that the surveying process involves a number of moving and overlapping parts, and has the skills required to bring projects together and ensure they progress in an efficient manner. As part of the CKL management team, Stu enjoys passing on his knowledge to more junior members of the team and the teaching aspects of his role.
A love of the outdoors and maths were the raw ingredients that drew him to surveying, so it’s of no surprise that in his spare time Stu loves getting out into the wilderness and is a keen tramper.
